Registration Deadline: Mar 24, 2025; Submission Deadline: Mar 24, 2025 2025 Jeff Harnar Awards Now Accepting Submissions The Jeff Harnar Award for Architecture (and Landscape Architecture) is now accepting submissions for 2025. The Jeff Harnar Awards program was created by Garrett Thornburg in 2007 to honor the memory of architect Jeff Harnar, known for his groundbreaking design in contemporary architecture in New Mexico. In 2021 the award was expanded to include built and unbuilt works in the Four Corners States (New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah). Please see the links below for additional details and eligibility. The deadline to apply is Monday, March 24, 2025 . For 2025 the program includes the following six categories: Contemporary Architecture in the Southwest ($10,000 Award Prize)Unbuilt Architecture ($3,000 Award Prize)Unbuilt Landscape Architecture ($3,000 Award Prize)Innovative Regional Design (Open category - Jury's selection from all submissions)($3,000 Award Prize) Student Architecture ($2,000 First Place; $1,500 Second Place)Student Landscape Architecture ($2,000 First Place; $1,500 Second Place)The Jeff Harnar Awards are made possible by the Thornburg Foundation, who has sponsored this program for the past 17 years. The University of New Mexico’s School of Architecture + Planning organizes the competition and determines both the award process and selection of the jury.The award presentation and celebration will be held on Friday, April 11, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. at the School of Architecture + Planning’s Garcia Honda Auditorium, located in George Pearl Hall at UNM. The 2025 award jury includes Chris Cornelius (University of New Mexico & Studio Indigenous), Monica Ponce de Leon (Princeton University), Gabriel Diaz Montemayor (University of Arkansas), Claudia Meyer Horn (Design Office), Winnifred E. Newman (Clemson University), and Francisco J. Rodriguez-Suárez (University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign). There are no finalists.
