LIPMAN ARCHITECTS wins the Garage Screen 2022 Architectural Concept Competition
LIPMAN has been announced as the winner of the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art’s Garage Screen 2022 Architectural Concept Competition.The Moscow-based firm will create the pavilion used in the museum’s Garage Screen summer cinema series. The winning design called for a load-bearing frame coated in metallic mesh and lined with reused plastic water bottles. The pavilion is sound absorbent, refracts light, and is made of recyclable materials that are meant as a reflection on the temporal nature of its existence and subject matter.
