Open call - EDIT Napoli Young Designers
Registration Deadline: Sep 10, 2021; Submission Deadline: Sep 10, 2021 EDIT Napoli is an innovative design fair created to support, promote and celebrate a new generation of designers. It focuses on the rise of the designer-maker who is at the forefront of a movement that is challenging the traditional chain of production and distribution. Its third edition will be held in Naples on 29—31 October 2021. EDIT Napoli selects a specific group of international, independent producers, craftsmen and enlightened manufacturers, emerging as an autonomous force in contemporary design. The fair launches every year an Open Call to select exhibitors that value quality over quantity; designers and brands that put emphasis on the process and the use and application of materials; collections that are produced on a small-scale but could be suitable for industrial production; and design pieces that are not in limited editions and they are not prototypes. Starting from 2020, the fair has expanded with Seminario, the section of the fair dedicated to designers aged under 30 and to brands with less than three years of history. During the fair, a committee of design experts made of Formafantasma (Italian designers), Dorothée Melochzon (interior and furniture designer), Sight Unseen, Alessandro Valenti (ELLE Décor Italia), will select the best-unreleased product 2021; the winner will have a personal space in the 2022 edition.
