Paint is a high-impact, low-budget way to completely transform a room. So when cool-kid paint startup Backdrop and covet-worthy design and gift shop Coming Soon joins forces to create three vibrant, new hues—the classical, the saturated, and the bold—it’s time to break out the brushes.
Blue Is The Coolest Color is a nod to the unconventional cerulean interiors, furniture, and wall treatments found in Italy that feels both classical and new. Barragán-Cito is a bright pink hue inspired by Mexican architect Luis Barragán’s work. And Pretty Ugly is a bold olive green that has inspired both brands, as it’s been steadily cropping up in upholstery, accessories, and more design objects in recent months.
Each paint color comes in a custom, co-branded can featuring Coming Soon’s mascot, Cosi, a Bichon Frisé with an affection for furniture (and hip enough to wear a face mask). The cans can be displayed, collected, and upcycled for vases and bookends—and like rest of Backdrop’s offerings, all three are low-VOC and Greenwise certified.
