It is used for various reasons, both academically and professionally, to showcase one’s abilities, talents and interests in design. Having a clear and memorable portfolio is often crucial to opening up opportunities in a career in design. This two-part Global Studio Portfolio Workshop will bring together professionals, educators, and students worldwide to discuss effective strategies in creating an architectural and creative portfolio. Part One – Lecture & Panel Discussion Date: December 10th, 2020 at 9:00 -10:30am MST The video recording is now available on-demand on the AU RAIC Centre for Architecture YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channe... The first session will include presentations from several experts on strategies and tips to create an impressive portfolio. The presentations will consist of concepts of graphics, content and delivery methods. The lectures will conclude with an opportunity to ask the experts questions to aid in your portfolio development. Speakers: Prof. Karen Seong, Academy of Art University (USA) / Prof. Rudolf Perold, Cape Peninsula University of Technology (South Africa) / Prof. Francesco Mancini, Curtin University (Australia) / Prof. Douglas MacLeod, Athabasca University (Canada) / Prof. Henry Tsang, Athabasca University (Canada) Part Two – Portfolio Reviews Date: January 7th, 2021 at 9:00-10:30am MST The second session will be a working session where a number of students will be invited to present their Portfolio, followed by comments and suggestions by the expert reviewers. The session will conclude with an open forum with the audience and guests. No certificates will be issued for attending Part Two, given that there will not be any lectures presented.
