Her research utilizes expanded media and methods to develop new ways of engaging with the spatial, situational, temporal, and tactile phenomena of landscape. As part of FOREGROUND, Aroussiak deploys design methodologies that use future scenarios as tools to better understand the present and that use design as a means of speculation. Prior to initiating her own practice, Aroussiak worked at Snøhetta in New York City on various architectural and landscape architectural projects including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art expansion and the Guadalajara Museum of Environmental Science. Aroussiak is a member of the Association of Professional Futurists and a consultant for futures oriented design work. Aroussiak is presently Assistant Professor of Landscape Architecture + Urbanism at the USC School of Architecture, and Affiliate Faculty of Media Arts + Practice at the USC School of Cinematic Arts.
