Competition for the Weissenhof in Stuttgart (Germany)
Registration Deadline: Feb 11, 2022; Submission Deadline: Apr 3, 2022 In 2027, the Weissenhof Estate in Stuttgart will be 100 years old. The famous estate with 21 houses was built for the Deutscher Werkbund exhibition in 1927 under the artistic guidance of Mies van der Rohe. The two houses of Le Corbusier are now part of the World Heritage Site. This upcoming anniversary forms the basis for the International Building Exhibition 2027 (IBA’27), which takes place in Stuttgart and its region. After a century of architectural and urban history, the IBA offers the opportunity to rethink the built testimonies of modernism and to advance the urban design at Weissenhof with a contemporary model. To this end, the state capital Stuttgart and the state of Baden-Württemberg, in cooperation with the IBA’27, are going to announce an open international ideas competition for the urban design of Weissenhof and its surroundings in 2022. Dates Registration with registration form (German) until: 11.02.22, 8 p.m. Issue of competition documents: 14.01.22 here. Submission of competition plans: week 13/2022 Submission of model: week 14/2022 Prize jury: 20. and 21.06.22 A total of € 150,000 (gross) will be awarded as the prize money. The call for entries is in German and English. The language of the competition is German.
