Easter egg coloring ideas

Supplies:

  • hard boiled eggs
  • measuring cup and spoons
  • hot water
  • white vinegar
  • glass bowls
  • spoon
  • food coloring in colors of your choice
  • paper towels
  • warm water
  • vegetable oil

This tutorial is so easy, but the results are breathtaking

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl mix 1 cup hot water, 1 tsp of the vinegar and 5 to 10 drops of the food coloring. Do the same for each color you want to use as base for your marbled eggs.
  2. Place an egg in each of the bowls using a spoon. Let sit for about a minute, take out and place on a paper towel to dry.
  3. In another bowl mix 1 cup of warm water, 20 drops of the food coloring and 1 tbsp vegetable oil. Make this mixture in different bowls for each color you want to use.
  4. Once the eggs are completely dry, dip them in one of the colors you mixed with oil and stir it in with a spoon. Take it out as soon as you start noticing the marbelized pattern. Don’t leave them in the coloring too long, because they will turn a solid color.
  5. Use a paper towel to dry the egg completely. If you want a shiny effect you can rub them with oil.

How to dye Easter eggs naturally?

Blue natural dye

  1. Cut a head of red cabbage into chunks. Soak it with 4 cups of boiling water.
  2. Add 2 tbsp vinegar and allow to cool.
  3. Remove the cabbage and place the eggs inside. Keep until the desired color is achieved.

Orange natural dye

  1. Take the peels from 6 yellow onions. Simmer in 2 cups of water for about 15 minutes.
  2. Strain and add 3 tbsp of white vinegar. Place the eggs inside and keep until the desired color is achieved.

Yellow natural dye

  1. Add 2 tbsp of turmeric into 1 cup of boiling water. Add 2 tsp white vinegar. Let cool.
  2. Add the eggs and keep until the desired color is achieved.

Pink natural dye

  1. In a bowl mix 1 cup of pickled beet juice with 1 tbsp vinegar. Add the eggs and keep until the desired color is achieved.

Let’s begin

Instructions:

  1. Once the hard boiled eggs are cool, palce them in a bowl filled with vinegar for about 20 minutes.
  2. In a shallow pan spread a thick layer of shaving cream (or whipped cream).
  3. Add drops of food coloring on top of the cream depending on the color combinations you want to create. Use the bamboo skewer to swirl the colors together so that you get the marbled look.
  4. Take an egg and roll it into the cream until it is fully covered. Set it on a paper towel and leave it there, fully coated in cream, for about 20 minutes.
  5. Carefully dip the egg into a bowl of water to remove the cream and pat dry with a paper towel.

How to color Easter eggs?

Supplies:

  • 6 or more cups
  • hard boiled eggs
  • spoons
  • baking sheet

Step by step tutorial

Instructions:

  1. Let your eggs cool off completely.
  2. Prepare the colors by pouring water into the cups and adding drops of the food dye. Make the colors with different saturations. Add less drops and more water in one cup and more drops with less water in another.
  3. Grab an egg and hold it over a baking sheet. Start pouring spoonfuls of each dye onto the egg so it runs down the sides, letting the excess fall into the sheet. Place on a paper towel and allow the egg to dry.
  4. Once dry, layer another color on the egg in the same way as step 3. You can add as many colors as you want letting the eggs dry in between.

How to dye eggs?

Supplies:

  • hard boiled eggs
  • paper towel
  • food colorind
  • water spray bottle
  • tiny elastics
  • baking sheet
  • table fan

  1. Let your eggs cool off completely and make sure they are dry.
  2. Place an egg in the middle of a paper towel. Wrap the egg in the towel so that it is completely covered and tie with an elastic on the top.
  3. Add drops of the different food coloring onto the paper towels. Leave some space in between each drop.
  4. Spray small amount of water into the center of each foor coloring drop. Keep spraying until there is no more space in between.
  5. Gently squeeze to remove any excess water from the paper towel.
  6. Transfer into a baking dish, point a table fan at them and allo them to dry for 3 to 4 hours. If you don’t have a table fan you can leave them overnight.
  7. Once dry, remove the elastics and unwrap the eggs.

Easter egg decorating ideas

Supplies:

  • hard boiled eggs
  • baking soda
  • food coloring
  • water
  • white vinegar
  • paint brushes
  • small disposable containers
  • clear craft glue

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix 1/4 cup of baking soda with 1 1/2 tbsp water and 3-4 drops of the food coloring. The mixture should have a paste like consistency.
  2. Use the craft glue to create patterns on your cool, dry eggs. Let dry.
  3. Grab an egg and apply the paste to the egg in small areas using a paintbrush. You can even add drops of the food coloring directly onto the egg. Let sit for 30 seconds.
  4. Pour 1 tbsp of vinegar over the egg. It will start fizzing up, make sure the fizz covers the whole egg for a few seconds.
  5. Carefully dip the egg into a bowl of water to remove the excess soda and pat dry with a paper towel.
