From Field to Form: Building Materials and the Climate: Constructing a New Future Report Launch

Buildings are set to dominate climate change. Join us for a discussion of possible solutions. The Architectural League presents a livestream of the launch of Building Materials and the Climate: Constructing a New Future, a global report by the Yale Center for Ecosystems + Architecture (Yale CEA), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction (GlobalABC). The first-of-its-kind report was developed by leading experts from six continents and designed to unite stakeholders from across the industry to cooperate on new pathways to radically accelerate the ethical decarbonization of materials by 2050. Presented by report co-authors Mae-ling Lokko and Anna Dyson, the presentations and panel discussion will bring together leading stakeholders and changemakers in the building industry.  The full list of speakers and panelists will be announced at a press conference on September 12, 2023. Mae-ling Lokko is an assistant professor at Yale University’s School of Architecture and Yale’s Center for Ecosystems in Architecture. She is the founder of Willow Technologies, Ltd., a sustainable materials and building technology company based in Accra, Ghana. Through her work, Lokko explores the potential of agro-waste, bio-based materials, and new models of production. Anna Dyson is the Hines Professor of Architecture at the Yale Schools of Architecture (YSoA) and Environment (YSE). Dyson is also founding director of the Yale Center for Ecosystems in Architecture (CEA). She holds many international patents on building systems innovations for the collection and distribution of clean energy, water, air quality, and material life cycle.Read the full post on Bustler
