VDF products fair: Florim has collaborated with Italian architect Matteo Thun to create the Sensi porcelain stoneware tile collection, which takes its cues from nature and "enriches the vocabulary of construction".
Sensi was developed as part of Florim's Casa dolce casa – Casamood brand, which was established in 2005 and has overseen the design of multiple nature-inspired collections.
The large porcelain tiles are intended for use in both indoor and outdoor spaces and available in 20 neutral shades. Each shade is informed by the textures and colours of the earth – ranging from white to dark brown – to help users introduce nature and character to their spaces.
Users can also choose between six tile sizes, as well as three different surface finishes and slab thicknesses.
"The Sensi large surfaces tell an ancient story made up of earth blended together and light mineral elements forged over time," said Florim.
"Sensi emerges from different perspectives and does not steal from nature, but enriches the vocabulary of construction," added Thun. "As architects, we are extremely happy to have found a perfect partner for porcelain stoneware slabs that meet our aesthetic and functional needs."
As well as taking its cues from nature, Sensi has been developed to be sensitive to the environment. Each tile is made from 60 per cent recycled materials, and the collection's production process relies on minimal water consumption and self-generated electricity.
