Winning compassionate designs from the Hospice – Home for the Terminally Ill competition
The results from the third edition of Buildner’s Hospice – Home for the Terminally Ill competition have been shared. For this year's contest, architecture students from across the world were invited to innovate and develop environments that promote comfort, dignity, and a sense of community for those dealing with life-threatening conditions. Participants were tasked with designing a facility that can accommodate upwards of fifteen visitors with room for five staff members. Some of the necessary add-ins were essential spaces like a common area, library, gathering room, chapel, kitchen/dining room, a nurse’s room, and psychological therapy chamber.
