2021 Canadian Off-Site Construction Student Design Competition
Registration Deadline: Apr 14, 2021; Submission Deadline: Jun 6, 2021 2021 CANADIAN OFF-SITE CONSTRUCTION STUDENT DESIGN COMPETITION We would like to invite you to participate in the first annual Canadian Off-site Construction Student Design Competition. The competition is intended to spark student interest and showcase Canadian student design innovation in modular, prefabricated, panelized, and other types of off-site construction. The competition is presented by the University of New Brunswick’s Off-Site Construction Research Centre (OCRC), founded by OSCO Construction Company is a research group that is dedicated to optimizing alternate solutions to on-site construction. The competition is presented in partnership with the Modular Building Institute (MBI). FIRST PRIZE $2,500 /TEAM SECOND PRIZE $1,000 /TEAM THIRD PRIZE $500 /TEAM FOURTH TO TENTH (HONORABLE MENTIONS) Working in teams of 1- 4 students are required to select a site in Canada and design a building that incorporates off-site construction in a significant way. In addition, students are to develop a plan for off-site construction as well as on-site assembly. The submission is 1-3 posters and a 400-word write-up.
