Adell's curved shell is available in four different colours and made from 80 per cent recycled polypropylene plastic that ensures a durable yet lightweight finish. The plastic also has a unique texture and concentric-pattern finish that evokes tree rings and seashells, which Arper developed to establish a connection to nature and contribute to the chair's "calming form".
The armchair is intended for use indoors and outdoors, and available with various finishes to help users tailor it to its desired space. This includes legs in wood or metal, or a statement-making metallic sled base.
Users can also choose to dress the chair completely in fabric, or team the plastic shell with an upholstered seat or removable cushion. However, every material used is chosen by Adell to be easily disassembled, recycled or repurposed at the end of its useful life.
"Plush yet supportive, substantial yet lightweight, Adell’s gentle slopes offer a welcoming and generous place of rest," said the Italian brand.
"The calming form has been designed with sustainability at its foundation, putting both body and mind at ease."
