BIG | Bjarke Ingels Group seeking Computational Design Specialist in energy analysis in Copenhagen, DK
Bjarke Ingels Group’s Copenhagen Office is seeking a Computational Design Specialist within BIG IDEAS, which is the research and development division for all of BIG’s offices. Role The position will focus on informing the design process by quantifying the impact of potential architectural scenarios. This includes 1. modeling energy demand to compare passive design strategies, 2. estimating renewable energy production from wind turbines, PV arrays, hydrogen fuel cells, hydro-turbines, and heat pumps, as well as 3. evaluating energy storage options like batteries. The applicant will also be responsible for integrating the aforementioned analysis into larger systems, such as smart building management systems, smart cities, and Life Cycle Analysis frameworks. It will occasionally be necessary to model for compliance, but that is not the primary focus of this position.
