The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design has announced the winners of The International Architecture Awards for 2021. Organized by The Chicago Athenaeum and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, the program celebrates the world’s best and most boundary-pushing buildings and urban planning projects. A shortlist of 400 projects had been selected from over 800 entries from 46 countries. “These global awards show how well-considered, well-delivered, and well-performing architecture has the immense potential to improve lives and communities,” said The Chicago Athenaeum Museum President and CEO, Christian Narkiewicz-Laine. “We are very pleased to be able to celebrate some of the most innovative, ingenious and impactful architecture in the world—designed by some of the most talented architects of our time.” Below are this year’s winning projects.
