VDF products fair: Viennese brand Steinwidder has recycled textile waste and second-hand clothes to create the Divided Trousers collection.

Divided Trousers are characterised by their fragmented appearances, achieved through sewing pieces of fabric that have been ripped apart back together.

Steinwidder also celebrates "traces of usage" and the history of the old textiles in each pair of trousers by using the original seams and detailing as texture and embellishment. This makes each item unique in finish and colour.

Divided Trousers is one of 15 designs being exhibited at VDF products fair by Austrianfashion.net, a platform dedicated to showcasing the work of designers from Austria.

"Through reassigning meaning, form, and function, Steinwidder reinvigorates the found objects by means of creative intervention and places them in a new conceptualized context," said Austrianfashion.net.
