LA's Materials & Applications announce Kate Yeh Chiu as new Executive Director

Materials & Applications (M&A) has announced Kate Yeh Chiu as its new Executive Director, effective January 1, 2021. Kate is a designer, editor, and arts organizer, joining M&A from the Canadian Centre for Architecture, where she holds the position of Digital Editor through March 2021. Kate has worked as an Education Fellow at Triple Canopy, a Grants Fellow at the Graham Foundation, an editor of Pidgin, in addition to positions with Stan Allen Architect and Lorcan O'Herlihy Architects. According to M&A, her personal projects "address material flows and labor conditions at the peripheries of architectural production, and she is half of the collaborative project yyyy-mm-dd with François Sabourin." She holds an M.Arch from Princeton University and a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Chicago.
