At the beginning of this story, we have to go back to 1933 year in Matosinhos, Portugal, where Alvaro Siza was born. He's one of a kind architect and his works still inspire and give creativity to the younger generation of creative people. Álvaro Siza Vieira is the greatest living Portuguese architect -perhaps the finest the country has ever produced- whose works over the years have proven to be amongst the most coherent and complete of all architectural works this century.Alvaro Siza Vieira is considered to be one of the greatest architects of his generation. During his life he collected various prestigious awards like the Pritzker award and many others. His sculptural works have been described as "Poetic Modernism".
What is the bond between Alvaro Siza and Lebond Watches ?
At 89 years old, his mastermind created a unique piece of art, exceptional piece of design and a brand new vision. Not everything has to be round and in the right position. He played with his imagination while creating Lebond Siza mechanical automatic watches. He showed us that space and time move the architecture and everything else around us.
The inspiration for the watch came from the Leça swimming pool, which Siza designed in 1966 at the age of 28. The watch case shape was based on the square main pool, and the watch hands were adapted from the minimal restroom signs that Siza used on numerous projects. The watch is made of titanium grade 5, which was chosen by Siza for its lightness and beautiful micro-sanded matte finish. The strap is crafted from fkm black rubber and comes with a deployant clasp for comfort and durability. The watch case back displays the exposed movement, while the signature "A. Siza" floats on the sapphire crystal, making this watch a timeless piece.
I strongly believe that Lebond Siza avant-garde, opulent watches will leave a lasting impression in the design world. If I have missed something to say or you want to know more, please visit Lebond Siza Watches.
