As the city of Montreal weighs the future of Roger Taillibert’s iconic 1976 Olympic Stadium design, the group responsible for the custodianship of Olympic Park has announced a new international idea competition to repurpose and reuse surviving components of the existing roof’s demolition after the project commences this summer.The competition is open to the international community and will eventually be put up for a public vote in Quebec. Eight proposals will be selected by a jury panel of experts, who will assess each based on a criterion that considers their ability to address climate change and increase resilience and local living standards, among other outcomes.
