The Bosch Architectuur Initiatief (BAI) organizes Open Call Orthen, an open design competition for a new entrance to the Orthen Cemetery (Begraafplaats Orthen) in Den Bosch.Orthen Cemetery (Begraafplaats Orthen) is also Orthen Memorial Park: a green oasis of tranquility intertwined with the city, which is accessible to everyone, regardless of background, age, disability, or religion. However, the full potential of the green memorial park does not always receive the attention it deserves.With Open Call Orthen, the BAI and the Stichting Solamen (foundation which develops and manages Orthen Cemetery) want to change that. The open design competition calls on architects and designers to design a new entrance that invites you to visit the memorial park.The competition is open to everyone and free of charge. You can register individually or as a team until October 20th, '23. All entries will be included in a printed catalog and exhibited in the Den Bosch city office. The design must be submitted physically. There is the intention to actually build the winning design. The winner receives an appropriate honorarium for realization.
