When architects Jonathan Ward and Jin Ah Park designed a home of their own in 2015, they decided to incorporate an offering for the neighborhood: a striking piece of artwork along the facade. Located in Venice, California, just blocks from world-famous beach boardwalks, the open-air structure features a laser-cut aluminum screen along the exterior. The dramatic piece of structural art shines during the day and is illuminated into the night, adding to the home's allure.

Today, the home is affectionately known as the California Poppy House. Among the home's other striking features is a voluminous living area grounded by a wood-clad wall on one side and soaring glass walls on the other. A clear and elegant floor plan eliminates sight lines, seamlessly connecting the dining area, kitchen, and an outdoor courtyard.
