Just when we thought we’d seen it all, the week was full of fresh design discoveries: A conversation-starting mirror, an expertly-curated vintage tabletop gallery, and a serotonin-boosting quilt filled our inboxes and Instagrams. Here’s what we found (and loved) this week.
Bower Studios’ Chameleon Glass Mirror
While Bower Studios’ latest glass tint may appear futuristic, it’s actually inspired by the natural world—chameleons, to be specific. Just like the transformative reptiles, the tinted glass hue changes depending on its environment, or better yet, the angle you’re looking at it from. Expect constant oscillation between bright green, magenta, burnt orange, gold, and violet.
Archyvio
Dwell editors have a soft spot for well-curated tablewares, which is why Archyvio, a new online gallery focused on vintage ceramic and glass goods, nearly stopped us in our tracks. Started by creative power duo Lilya Turki and Antonio Fazio, the assortment includes everything from a set of Gio Ponti for Franco Pozzi plates to a cherry red footed glass vase by Erik Höglund for Kosta Boda. (Bonus: the site’s distinctive photography is almost as powerful as the objects themselves.)
Parachute’s Outpost Wood Bed Frame
Parachute has been selling upholstered bed frames for some time, but the brand just launched its first solid wood style. What you can’t tell from the photos is that there’s no visible hardware—it’s built with mortise-and-tenon joints. Choose from Walnut and or White Oak, and why not stock up on cooling linen bedding for summer while you’re at it?
Heath Ceramics’ Summer Seasonal Collection
The biannual release of Heath’s seasonal collection is something worth celebrating, and its summer assortment, Flow State, is surely no exception. Including cool-toned glazes like cyan, lemon rind, and avocado, it offers up the visual palette cleanser we crave in sweltering summer heat.
Brooklinen’s Wild Rose Check Linen Quilt
If you consider yourself a maximalist, you’ve come to the right place: Brooklinen’s latest quilt pattern, Wild Rose Check, is quite possibly the happiest quilt we’ve ever seen. And if you fear you’ll grow tired of the rainbow-colored gingham, don't worry; it’s complemented by a tan stripe on the reverse.
