The department of Architecture at Bard College invites applications for a full-time tenure stream position in the area of architectural design. We are especially interested in those whose work treats the practice of design as both a mode of critical inquiry and a creative site for intervening in movements for social liberation and climate justice. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor with an anticipated start date of August 2022.Architecture at Bard is a brand new undergraduate program that launched in the Fall of 2020. Structured around an innovative curriculum, the program looks to critically re-situate architecture as a site for transformative, insurgent socio-spatial imaginaries and a tool for building alliances seeking more just, liberating spatial futures.
